Default PVE and PVP hp and energy

Just two simple questions. Whats considered GOOD, HP and Energy for:

PVE

PVP

Please no dumb answers..."a lot" xD...Im considereing using larger runes with negative HP, and wanted to know what I would need for endgame pve and also for pk.

Thanks.

For PvP you should only use minor runes, with the exception of superior vigor. Also for me, and I know a lot of people feel the same, is armour over HP. So, for example, on a monk you'd run Disciples Insignias on every piece of armour plus a minor rune of what ever attribute you choose and the rest of runes should be HP.

PvP - Above 550, a lot of people would prefer 600+ because of spikes speed, gives more time for infuse. Typically having +35 health from survivor runes instead of armor is utterly pointless, a major rune for anything that increases time on skills (stance, enchants, etc.) is better than 35 health. 1 extra second on guardian can easily mean saving 75 health.

PvE - Above 480. Same almost same reasons as PvP but less ganking and spiking involved. Foes hit hard, skills that heals players become more effective if they reach the health cap. (Ex. Dwayna's kiss is better to heal fully than heal to 75%, more energy for monks.) Plus protective spirit or shelter work better anyways.

Don't worry, I read it and your mostly wrong. Plus I'm not saying bring 3 major runes, I'm also not saying bring a major rune in Hammer Mastery. But when it comes to skills like Guardian, Resilient Weapon, "Make Haste!", Ward Against Foes, (Maybe, if monk is stupid) Rigor Mortis are major rune worthy.

If a player dies because the player didn't have the extra 35 health then something is wrong. I'd always prefer an extra second on a more powerful skill than a minimal 35 health.

LOL, this post reminds me of so many other posts, made by similar people...ZZZ

Back on topic. Thanks for the input being new to the game it gives me a ballpark figure to mess around with. One of the things that attracted me to GW is the versitility in your characters, and builds. Your not "stuck" in 1 type of build, there seems to be a lot more freedom to try different things as compared to other games.

Thanks again.

cant comment on pvp since i never do pvp....

but it all depends on the situation and what you prefer in pve. if your a caster it may be more bennifical to make yourself a bit more "squishy" and go for that superior rune of X.

if your a meele then id suggest going into the more health over energy runes since your likely going to be in the front of the fight most of the time.

Pvp has pretty much been answered. For pve, it really depends. Definately armor over health, like on my warrior I run 14 strength with sentinals for 100al vs everything.

Otherwise, it really depends. As a caster (i may be wrong), but im pretty sure that AI targets based on health, so more health means less likely to be targeted.
